Douglas TBD Devastator of VT-5 , USS Yorktown, as it appeared during the hit and run attacks on Jaluit, Lae-Salamua, and Tulagi from Feb. 1942 to May 1942. On May 7th this plane was flown at the Coral Sea battle attack on the Japanese carrier Shoho, flown in this fight by CAP E.J. Williamson and gunner RM3c J.B. Crawford. VT-5 received good fighter cover, unlike what was to occur at Midway, and no TBDs were lost while sinking the Shoho.

This model is a further development of the model that Woolfman and Cord and I improved in turn from the Microprose "1942: Pacific Air War" TBD model. I have made it non- mirroring and fixed some texture areas. This version is re-scaled to 1.6 points to an inch as it was about 15% too small. It was re-proportioned to improve its accuracy of outline by a slight reshaping of the tail, changed nose, and the wing to fuselage size ratio was adjusted as well.

For use with Charles Gunst's ECA (Enemy Coast Ahead) Panel and in Moggy's Midway Campaign. It uses the P-51B slot.

To install, just unzip the *.TPC and *.3DZ files into your EAW directory.

The .PCX files for this aircraft are included plus a tex file for an unmarked plane if you'd like to try your hand at adding your own markings.

Have fun,

Captain Kurt
